ts250 - replacing pulser coils

I am trying trying to fix a stumble at 6k rpm that prevents the bike from going over 63 mph. Next on my list was the coils the stator. I am not sure what to call these things. There is a low speed and a high speed coil. They work with the CDI box to charge and trigger the ignition coil.

Surprisingly I was able to find some new genuine low and high speed coils. They labeled them as the following:

  1. 79-32140-32021: Primary coil
  2. 79-32150-32020: Pulser coil
My old coils were looking very rough. The wire that joined both coils was rock hard and cracked. It still had continuity, but surely this was a problem. I ended up replacing not only the coils but all the wiring going to those coils. I used extremely flexible high strand count replacement wire... the good stuff.
After putting everything back together, the bike started right up which was a relief. Unfortuantely it did nothing to solve my top speed problem. That leaves only one ignition component left, the CDI box itself.
